Now I'm all for being happy in the morning. You know birds chirping, the sun shinning (metaphorically speaking in Washington), so on and so on. It's a refreshing change to have at work one in awhile.
There is, and should be, a limit to this cheerfulness however. If you cross this limit you are the forever repeated butt of a joke like the "case of the Mondays" girl in Office Space. Why am I sometimes in a bad mood at work? Let's call him Annoying Arnold. He'd so absurdly hyper in the morning the cheerfulness dies in the the dripping carelessness. Yes, he's that guy. You know the guy who has a hint of car salesman in him with just a touch of chummy manly man and a sprinkle of uber metro. The guy who asks how you are just to say it and is out of the room before you can respond. Literally, he asks and as I'm in the middle of a sentence I realize the door is closing and he hasn't heard a word I've said. The guy who's done everything and more. No matter what you say, he's done it bigger and better, but has suggestions for your next attempt at his greatness. The guy with the perfected fake laugh which sounds just real enough to make you think he cares or even paying attention for that matter. The guy who's attention span is that of a 3 year old child in the middle of a candy store and endless amounts of money. I work with that guy. Good old Annoying Arnold.
This person drives me bonkers. BONKERS! I'm sorry he has not embraced the personality of anyone beyond the age of 13. I'm sorry. Really, I wish it was not so bad, but it is. Everyday. "Hey!" "How Ya' Doin' Buddy?" "You know what would be really fun next time" "I've got an idea" Of course you do, if you didn't have an idea your head would either shrink or explode.
Teehee here he comes again for round two...OH BOY OH BOY!!
