Updated Rambleing

Obviously this page needs an update since the last posts was in regards to the loss of my very much loved Subi. That was around New Years so we’ll start there.

New Years
Since our plans to travel had been altered, we jumped at the chance to spend New Years in Seattle with our friends. The hotel was lovely. The room overlooked the bay…and the underpass, but it was still pretty. The girls got all dolled up, which is always fun once in awhile, while the guys switched from t-shirts to nice shirts. Since there were only supposed to be 2 in the room we concocted a marvelous plan to all walk in at separate times on our cell phones and ride the elevator. We were probably more excited about it than we needed to be. All in all, it was a marvelous night and we had so much fun!

Edi vs. the Stick Shift
This brings me to the next glorious event. Jed was wonderful enough to take on looking at new (well new for me) cars since this is my least favorite thing ever to do. I hate trying to decide, test driving, talking numbers; it’s all an uneventful process. Jed selected a very very cute red Subaru with a snowboarding rack and everything. It’s so cute. There was one major difference between this new version and my other car, aside from the color. This car was a manual. At this time I had to go to work on Monday to a brand new job and had to drive myself. Now if you know where I live, you can imagine the hills that I encounter…they’re awful. They even make skilled stick shift drivers take a second look. So, in 1 weekend Jed taught me how to drive a stick shift. Now I love him dearly, he is a wonderful man, but I give this advice to others. Do not, ever, ever…ever………ever let someone you love teach you to drive. It is a frustrating process and a challenged for anyone. After some tears, quiet moments and many four letter words combined in various ways I learned to drive. I still refuse to drive downtown. I just cannot conquer those hills. I love my new Subi a little more each day. She is wonderful. Thanks Babe.

Other Random Events
I’m getting ready to graduate, which makes me think…”am I supposed to know what I want to do?” I sure hope not since I am oh so far from figuring that out. As of now, I really like my job. It fits me very nicely and I feel like I am good at this. Even though the fear is slightly off in the distance, it is extremely insignificant when I realize “I’M GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE!!!” I can’t even express how excited I am. The only thing that can top it is the thought of my family coming to visit me in the city. I can’t wait to see everyone, I miss them so! I also taught Jed how to snowboard this winter. I had so much fun. I was a little worried when I saw how many classes were going on. I told Jed as long as he didn't hit any of the kids he'd be good. After a lot of frustration and falls, Jed made it down with a great deal of success. I was so proud of him. I would highly suggest going for the first time ever, or season, when you don't plan on doing anything the next day. Muscles that I didn't even know existed were hurting. Oh it was bad...and yet I can't wait to go again.

Okay, that’s a good summary or at least something to keep your eyes busy. More adventures to come!
