The Brilliance that is Sex and the City

So I was watching another glorious episode of Sex and the City when as always, Carrie scripts a question that alters the thinking of women around the globe. The are the questions that makes this show good, that makes it more than just another group of friends in the battle of life. The questions that many of us are too afraid to ask ourselves. In Celebration of the movie coming out tomorrow. Here are some of my favorite lines from Sex and the City, keep in mind these are only a few on the extremely long list I consider to be my favorites.

"In matters of love, do actions really speak louder than words?"

-Do any of you have a completely unremarkable friend or maybe a houseplant I could go to dinner with on Saturday night?

"In a relationship, when does the art of compromise become compromising?"

-Oh my god! She's fashion road kill!

"Do we really want these things, or are we just programmed to think we do?"

-I don't believe in the Republican party or the Democratic party. I just believe in parties.

"Can you make a mistake and miss your fate?"

-The universe may not always play fair, but at least it's got a hell of a sense of humor.

"Do we need drama to make a relationship work?"

-I've spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!

"I used to think those people who sat alone at Starbucks writing on their laptops were pretentious posers. Now I know: they are people who have recently moved in with someone."

-Hello I'm drunk.

"We've had a swell time, it's just... it's midnight, he's gay, he's got to start his night."

-That's the thing about needs. Sometimes when you get them met, you don't need them anymore.

"As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and keep going."

-When men attempt bold gestures, generally it's considered romantic. When women do it, it's often considered desperate or psyco.

The Loves and Losses of TV

So these last couple of weeks has been season finales week. For two weeks, depending on the show, I was glued to the TV anxiously awaiting the surprises these long overdue writers had in store. I laughed, I cried, but mostly I got annoyed. As I watched I thought "Why on earth does it seem that there MUST be a death, firing and or breakup to make the season finale interesting?" Seriously!!! As I watched almost all of my favorite characters take a hit, either literally or figuratively. What ever happened to "I'm Moving. I'm pregnant. I'm your father." I mean honestly!!! I was so annoyed by the constant destruction of my shows, I just had to stop. I'm almost glad that there is a break. It gives me time to wrap my mind about all the losses TV has suffered. Geeze.

Westport Weekend

Finally, some time for craziness and mayhem. We all needed it before the baby/wedding season starts and everyone is secluded to their own plans. We decided to go to Westport, a super-cute little beach city. There really is not much to do there, but it was nice just to see everyone. We headed out and followed the craziest directions I have ever read. Here's a thought, Just a thought. If you're going to give directions to a location 100 miles away...exit numbers would be nice, not to mention having the directions in order. We were blindly following this persons dirctions to who knows where. Once we finally go there the fun began. We played endless amounts of card games. The next morning we saw the little town area. Jed bought a kite which we flew later. That was soo much fun and now I have an excuse to get him to actually go to a park with me. I bought oh the most delicious taffy, I'm still eating it. Later we went and saw the local Ocean Spray cranberry bogs. We pulled up and didn't realize these were in their growing stage. We all expected to find the large pools like you see on tv. Later Jed bought some oysters to BBQ. They were stinking enormous! Finally we ate dinner, we drank and were merry. I loved it. If you ever get a chance to go, it's a nice place to relax, there's not much to do but it's sweet.

The coast! Woohoo!

So, I bought this Monkey for Jed to put in his Easter Basket. I thought it was cute and apparently so did the kitties :) They have since adopted the Monkey and carry it all over the house. I started thinking how cute that was. It's so nice when you can stop and enjoy little things. The simple pleasures that make you happy. I also posted some photos my friend sent me. I hope this makes you smile today :)
